OUR STAFF

The folks at Mankato Livestock have become more and more of a family over the years, and with different specialties, your livestock needs are sure to be taken care of in a professional manner.

Jon Russell

Since getting started with MLI in 1980, Jon has become more and more involved with meeting the needs of buyers. Jon followed his calling from an early age by attending sales and buying and selling cattle & hogs, which has lead him to know being known as a top order buyer in the cattle industry. Jon has become the resident expert on knowing what will work better in the pasture or feedlot and what the current prices are.

Scott Greene

Being raised in an agricultural family and community, Scott has endless experience raising both cattle and crops. Born and raised in Jewell County, Scott enjoys working with local producers to meet their needs, maintain relationships, and help them make the most of their market experience.

Kelly Bouray

From an early age, Kelly has been working in the office, making the books balance, and making sure the show runs smoothly. Not only does she manage the office side of the business, she was raised in an auction family - so she understands more of the business and is knowledgeable and friendly when helping any clients that come through the door.

Neil Bouray

Growing up at MLI, Neil learned the in’s and out’s of the auction and cattle business at a very early age from his grandfather. Being the young one on the team, Neil is always innovating and finding new ways to better serve clients, all while serving as the auctioneer on sale day. He has become involved with the LMA (Livestock Marketing Association) as a board member and has had the opportunity to complete their Pat Groggins Leadership Program. He has also qualified for the finals in the LMA’s World Livestock Auction Contest multiple years running, and holds the 2018 Championship title from the Nebraska Auctioneers Association Championship Contest.

Along with the leadership team, the staff at MLI is dedicated to taking good care of the livestock that pass through our gates. With a vast array of experiences and backgrounds, the dedication shown by our staff is second to none. Hot, cold, rainy, or snowy days sometimes turn into nights, and yet the our employees still travel to come back time after time.

OUR NEW FACILITY

If you’ve been a buyer or producer with us in the past, a grand surprise is in store when you arrive for auctions this year. Our “historic” barn was unable to keep up with the growing need, and starting to show its age.

As sad as we were to see it go, the company has welcomed new additions like a ring scale to more quickly and effectively weight cattle, a heated/air conditioned arena, new conference room, new kitchen, and new dining room. We hope you will join us for an upcoming sale in our new ADA compliant building - at the same address, 810 N. Commercial!
